HANDS-ON: Building secret pyramids

With 1st of ESO on Friday, Geography/History teacher Abel and language assistant Sara decided to take a more creative approach in the bilingual class by having the students create their very own pyramids! We thought that this was a good way of ending the chapter on Egypt and allowed the students to enjoy a more light-hearted class on Friday. We all know that on Fridays students have one thing on their mind - the weekend!

They were each given two sheets of paper with a set of instructions and the cut-out, one for the base and the other for the pyramid itself. The instructions were read out and as soon as they were, the students dived right into the task – they were unstoppable! It was interesting to see how some students approached the task. Some got right to the cutting, while others meticulously coloured each little brick one by one on the handout.

It’s fair to say that they thoroughly enjoyed this task and that creativity is refreshing for students.
