X-mas is coming

Here you have a display of some of the activities our students at IES Sierra Morena have been doing to celebrate Christmas:

In today's activity we learned about Dr. Seuss, the writer and illustrator of these silly and strange stories. He writes these stories to rhyme. We watched a video from the 2018 film, "The Grinch." And answered the English comprehension questions throughout Edpuzzle. The Grinch is a funny story about a man who hated Christmas, but in the end grows to love it and celebrate it as well. In the story, community matters more than the material things.

This year, Andujar and the whole world, faces a different kind of Grinch - the Covid-19 virus. Despite the sadness and difficulties we may experience, we must be positive and strong like the people in Whoville.

Ready for our Grinch Unit!!
Our technology teacher has done a project to help reduce plastic waste. The teacher came up with a creative way to re-use plastic bottles. Students were asked to decorate their plastic bottle as creatively and attractively as they wanted for its new life as a Christmas tree.

Finally, our students have taken part in our Anual Christmas Cards Contest. Each year, IES Sierra Morena invites students to design an artwork which should be Christmas/ Holiday themed and which is judged by a committee of teachers. This contest is an opportunity for our students to showcase their creativity and for our school to promote the importance of art in education.

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to all, be well!

All the Must-Watch Films

With everyone spending most of their time at home and the Christmas holidays fast approaching, now it is the ideal time of the year to catch upon some of the films our students recommended. Check out the movie guides they created using digital tools to write a TV guide. In class, we talked about which films they enjoy the most and why. At home, they made their posters with film recommendations using the content learned in class.
