Meet our new language assistant Hanin

Hello! My name is Hanin and I am a language assistant at Sierra Morena. I have never been to Spain but my first weeks in Andújar have been wonderful. This town is so different from my home in Calgary, Canada so I am learning so much.

The thing I love most so far is the weather. The weather in Andújar is a lot nicer this time of year than it is back home in Canada. I am enjoying the sunshine! The kindness of everyone in Andújar has made my experience all the more enjoyable. Everywhere I go the people are always willing to help me when my limited Spanish is not enough.

I also love being able to have great coffee no matter where I go. The coffee here does not compare to American coffee! I have been so surprised by the meal time and the siestas, which is something we don't have in Canada. I am also learning a little of Spanish every day.

So far, my favorite part has been spending time in the Sierra here in Andújar. The wildlife and all nature has been so beautiful and so new to me.

I am very grateful to be able to experience such a different culture than my own and meet so many new and wonderful people. I am looking forward to learning so much more.
