EN At IES Sierra Morena, we are very interested in job shadowing, conducting first-hand research into the work methods of our European colleagues, especially with students facing educational and socioeconomic needs. We are also interested in offering courses on new methodologies, the environment, social inclusion, science, history, and art.

Our bilingual project has several lines of action, including improving students' language proficiency in the five basic skills: listening comprehension, reading comprehension, speaking, writing, and oral interaction, and improving students' intercultural competence. Among the cultural objectives, we can highlight exposure to other realities in order to awaken interest in other cultures, customs, and institutions. We also highlight the need to identify problems of international dimension that exist in order to seek supportive and cooperative solutions and prepare students for life in our society, free from prejudice and stereotypes.

With our bilingual project, we hope to promote the learning of curricular content and the mastery of other skills through communication in English; to reflect on the linguistic and communicative functioning of the first, second, and even third languages, regulating their learning and improving skills in both, and connecting all of this with the rest of the non-linguistic subjects; to use the knowledge and strategies of the native language in the learning of other languages; to involve students in and take responsibility for their learning process, developing learning strategies for both the English language and the content; and to develop creativity, imagination, originality, autonomy, work habits, self-initiative, and responsibility.
