We, at IES Sierra Morena, are really excited to have our language assistant, Libby, with us this school year. She is from Boston in the United States and is being a great help with language and culture learning.
In this lesson, she shared different Halloween traditions that are celebrated in the United States. These include decorating the house with lots of Orange, red and yellow colors, putting fake ghosts and monsters outside in the yard, and trick or treating. In this example, she shows how a pumpkin is carved to have a face and a candle is put inside. It is called a Jack-o-lantern and it is a popular symbol of Halloween!
After the presentation the students played games with Halloween vocabulary and chose what objects they needed to survive a “Zombie apocalypse.” 🧟♀️ 🧟♂️
